Macron Fireater Fire Extinguishers are available in a wide variety of sizes to suit each individual fire risk.
Water
The most commonly used extinguishant for Class A fires involving carbonaceous
materials such as wood, paper and textiles. Water extinguishers cool the fire,
removing the heat needed to sustain burning and preventing glowing embers from
re-igniting.
Features:
Foam
Triclass, Jetspray & Aspirated Triclass fire extinguishers, with an AFFF
additive, have the effect of improving a water based extinguisher, enabling it
to fight Class A and B fires, by cooling the burning embers of carbonaceous
materials and sealing liquid fires.
Jetspray foam extinguishers are the ultimate alternative to Halon 1211, which
has now been withdrawn, with no CFC's it's 100% ozone friendly.
Aspirated foam has a smothering effect, depriving fire of oxygen and is
especially effective on Class B (flammable liquid) fires but can also be used
on Class A (carbonaceous) fires.
Features:
ABC & Standard BC power
Multi-class ABC power is a truely versatile extinguishant which can be used on
Class A (carbonaceous), Class B (flammable liquid) and Class C (flammable gas)
fires.
Standard BC powder extinguishers, as their name would suggest, can be used to
extinguish Class B (flammable liquid) fires. There is no requirement under BS
EN 3 for Class C (flammable gas) but Standard BC is effective for these fires
as well.
Features:
Balance valve for BS EN 3 Fitted to all POWER cartridge operated
extinguishers, this world patented feature is designed to give ultimate
fluidization to compacted powder, achieving discharge second to none.
Single action operation, with maximum fire fighting capability.
Carbon dioxide Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is used on Class B (flammable
liquid) fires and is safe to use on live electrical fires. It offers
cleanliness of action not available from other extinguishants which makes it
ideal for use in food industry environments.
Features:
Wheeled extinguishers
A wide range of mobile wheeled extinguishers are available in a variety of
sizes containing AFFF Foam, ABC Powder, Standard BC Powder and Carbon Dioxide.
Features:
Colour coded headcap
Macron extinguishers offer a unique design which is approved to the new regulations.
BS EN 3 stipulates that bodies of all portable extinguishers, irrespective of
extinguishing agent, must be coloured red.
However, Macron have continued to used the familiar colour coding system currently
used around the world to distinguish the extinguishing agent. Following extensive
research a new colour coded headcap was introduced and has been accepted and
welcomed throughout the industry for its advantages of visual identification
in case of an emergency. The colour coding not only remains clear and prominent,
but can still be recognised by viewing the extinguisher from any angle.
